Artist Spotlight – Marcia N. Waller-Searcy
Author and Illustrator of “From A to Z with Marlee”

We were pleased to host the book signing for our friend Marcia at our gallery last weekend. With the high rate of illiteracy amongst teens and young adults, it’s only fitting to start teaching children how and the importance of reading and comprehension at an early age. Marcia is a native of Macon, GA. She is motivated by her wonderful husband Marian, mother Sharon, and sister Jennifer; and has dedicated her life to fulfilling the creative spark that lives within. The inspiration for this book comes from two little balls of energy Breanna her daughter and Donnovan her nephew. She enjoys writing poetry, short stories, and children’s literature. I know that most people feel that they have the best stylists in the world, but I really do. In October 2008, I (Jae’) made the decision to whack off all of my hair and try something new. I had no idea where to go so I asked the Lord to guide me. I came across a stylist in the phonebook by the name of Victoria Davis who said that she specialized in healthy hair, precision cuts, and color. I gave her a try and have been pleased ever since. At the time, she had just moved into her very own salon Split Endz. On November 6, 2009 I along with some of her clients celebrated with her as she had her grand opening of Split Endz II. Thank you for allowing me to capture this special day and for allowing us to adorn your salon walls with our art. Congratulations Victoria on moving on up!! Check it out!

We are constantly finding way to bring small businesses to the forefront.
